We have had the pleasure working with Robert Turner Photography since 2001 when we created their first website. Over the years we have improved their site by transitioning to a wider width, a new design and most recently into the WordPress CMS.

Praise

“Through our collaboration on the design and maintenance of my website since 2001, Eric has become a valued partner in my business. He has a deep knowledge of web design technique and software, and brings that expertise to bear on solutions. At the same time he is good at engaging in a creative give and take. He is willing to give importance to the small details that are so important to me in putting my art before the public.”

- Robert Turner

What they do

Robert now devotes all of his energies to large format, fine art, landscape photography, logging 30,000 miles a year in pursuit of the light on the land. His work will be featured in a number of museum, art fair, and gallery shows in the upcoming year, and hangs in private collections across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
Potomac Custom Builders, in Houston Texas, is the one place to find everything you love in a home: Quality, Distinction, Integrity, Style.

We first started working with Potomac Custom Builders in 2005 and we have really enjoyed working with a client with such attention to detail. The site has gone through two revisions, most recently increasing the width and replacing most of the flash elements with javascript to make the site more mobile friendly (and load faster).

What They Do

Potomac Custom Builders, in Houston Texas, is the one place to find everything you love in a home: Quality, Distinction, Integrity, Style.

They never build the same home twice. And no one builds a home quite like they do.

Their construction standards are the highest in the industry. Inside and out, their designs are customized, personalized and finished with the utmost flourish.

The reason is simple. They build each home as if it were our own. Because they love building our homes, their owners love living in them.

The Heart Foundation’s mission is to eradicate heart disease by educating the public about this silent killer, promoting early detection and supporting research.

We were extremely happy to be selected by The Heart Foundation when they were looking for a studio to bring their site up to date in messaging and design.

We started at the ground up by doing and industry specific comparison that informed the IA and UX phases of the project. The result was a freshly designed standards-compliant XHTML and CSS site. We paid particularly close attention to the messaging and typography within the design.

Once the design was complete, we integrated it with WordPress to facilitate easy updating of the blog, videos, photos, press releases and the golf & gala events. This is one of our favorite projects to date!

Praise

I had the privilege of working with Eric Curtis on the new website for The Heart Foundation. He is not only a talented graphic designer but also a skilled programmer with an extensive knowledge of current website tools and trends. He listened carefully to our needs and worked very closely with us to design a website which not only met but exceeded our expectations.

I truly appreciated the procedures he followed from initial consultation to launch as they helped us hone in on exactly what message it was that we wanted to convey with the new website and what we wanted to accomplish. Since launch, Eric has remained very accessible and responsive. Any time I have contacted him regarding an update or a “down” issue he rapidly completes the update or solves the problem. I highly recommend Eric, both for his outstanding work as well as his very pleasant demeanor. I look forward to working with him on other projects in the future.

We were asked to design and code The Soto Zen Buddhist Association’s new site. When they came to us they asked for a simple directory, however we quickly saw an opportunity to use and extend the functionality of the WordPress CMS so we added zip code, state and country searching.

What They Do

The Soto Zen Buddhist Association is organized to preserve and promote the Buddha-dharma through the teaching and practice of Soto Zen Buddhism in North America, and to facilitate trust, respect, communication, ethical conduct, and education among the many sanghas of Soto Zen lineages and in the wider community. Its purpose is also to compassionately widen the transmission of Dogen Zenji and Keizan Zenji’s practice and understanding in the Western World.

This site was created to get the message out about how girls, young women and their families @ the margin live each day facing major obstacles not of their own making.

The site encourages people to take action by joining the movement, sharing their stories and donating money to help get the message out.

The site also acted as a gateway to their YouTube channel and featured the wonderful Cool Iris add-on.

Praise

“Eric is a wonderful person with which to work. He is creative, personable, honest, innovative and stays on top of new developments in the field. He is always looking for ways to deliver the highest quality work at a reasonable cost without sacrificing process, content or impact. I have hired him many times and intend to continue to keep him on the team.”
